]]> The heavy rain during the monsoon season that hit the country last month had disrupted the mobility of eight states, claimed lives and affected livelihoods of people with unexpected floods occurring in the states in the West Coast of Malaysia.

 

Therefore, from 22-30 December 2021, a group of volunteers from Maju Expressway Sdn Bhd, lent their hands to help 16 MEX employees who were affected by the floods by cleaning up the post-flood areas near their houses.

 

Among locations assisted by MEX volunteers were those in Labohan Dagang Banting, Dengkil, Hulu Langat and also in Puchong. MEX volunteers also handed out some daily necessities, electrical goods and food.

 

The objective of the Flood Relief Mission was to alleviate the burdens affecting MEX staff hit by the floods and to foster a spirit of mutual help in the context of volunteerism.

]]> As part of Maju Expressway’s (MEX) continuous effort to improve safety, further enhancements of the roadside equipment have been installed at the approach stretch of KM7.0 of the North Bound MEX. Among the on-site enhancements are the installation of warning signs to reduce speed, increasing the number of chevron signages, solar-powered flashing lights and also anti-skid speed breakers. These enhancements at the location will give early warning to users to slow down their vehicle and follow the speed limit of 60KM/H set at the bend. These significant improvements will help reduce the number of accidents and increase the overall level of safety of MEX.

Maju Holdings is pleased to announce its participation as a platinum sponsor for The LLM MAJU Cultural Night Run @ 2nd Bridge, Penang. This first – ever running event combines fun run activities, performing arts and other Malaysian multi – cultural activities and will be held on September 15, 2019 (Sunday), at 9.00 pm at the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge (JSAHMS), Penang.

 

ORGANIZER

The race is organized by Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) and Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd (JKSB) in collaboration with the Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang (MBPP), Majlis Perbandaran Seberang Perai (MPSP) and Persatuan Olahraga Amatur Negeri Pulau Pinang (PAAA). The race event receives full support from the Organizing Committee comprising Government agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Sports Associations and other related agencies.

 

OBJECTIVES

  •  To introduce the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge as the main route to Penang.

 

  • To encourage tourism – related activities particularly in Penang and in Malaysia generally.

 

  • To introduce the diversity of Malaysian cultures to foreign tourists.

 

  • To promote a healthy lifestyle and strengthen family ties.

 

  • To enhance the spirit of goodwill, tolerance and cooperation among multiracial populations.

 

  • To collect funds to be donated to parties in need.

 

CONCEPT

The LLM MAJU Cultural Night Run @ 2nd Bridge, Penang is conceptualized as a leisure event where in addition to the run, participants also have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the scenery around the Second Penang Bridge at night.

 

  • Participants are encouraged to wear “costumes” according to their own culture to enliven the event.

 

  • The excitement of the event will be enhanced with cultural performances such as Boria, Chinggey, Bhangra, Malay and Indian dances at various locations along the route.

 

  • The bridge will be decorated with colorful lights.

 

  • Running distance is 7 kilometers.
